Our Vision Statement

The vision of Stevensville Bible Chapel is to have a well equipped, unified, mature body of believers who are actively serving the Lord by exercising the gifts that God has given to each one. The Word of God must be central to equip the believers for service. It is useful for teaching, rebuking, correction and training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16). We will emphasize the unity of the body, of which Christ is the Head (Col. 1:18) and Chief Shepherd (1 Peter 5:4). Paul uses the physical body as an appropriate analogy to explain how the spiritual body of Christ should function locally. Christ’s body is made up of many parts all working together and arranged by God just as He wanted them to be (1 Cor. 12:12-26). We will develop maturity by giving all believers opportunities to identify and to exercise their gifts and will encourage them to be actively involved in some form of evangelism (1 Thess. 1:7-8).

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
                      Hebrews 10:23-25

Each member of the body will be encouraged to fellowship in worship, prayer, service and evangelism both through the meetings of the church and through individual relationships. The church meetings and activities will be used to establish the believers in the Word of God with an emphasis on living out what is taught in a practical way (Phil. 4:9) and passing on what is taught to others (2 Tim. 2:2, Heb. 10:24-25). The prayer meeting will be the foundation of our desire to fulfill the great commission (Acts 10:2, 13:3). The church was born while people prayed (Acts 1:14) and we cannot expect great blessing without fervent corporate prayer. The fellowship of believers at Stevensville Bible Chapel will be marked by a deep love for the Lord and for one another (John 15:12, 1 John 4:7-21). We will encourage the expression of this love for the Lord as we break bread together each week in response to the Lord’s dying request (1 Cor. 11:23-26).

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.
